Beauty Tips- Come Back

I'm back!
I thought I'd ease myself back into the blogging swing of things (so to speak) by doing a little beauty tips post. I have become rather addicted to Pinterest since finishing uni for Summer and have found a number of beauty tips on the site.

Get rid of acne and open up problematic pores

Open a Vitamin E capsule, lightly massage it into your face, and let it soak in for 30 minutes. Next, apply beaten egg white to your skin, let it soak infor another 30 minutes, and then rinse off with cold water. --- This home remedy can help you get rid of acne and open up problematic pores. With regular use, your skin will become smooth and radiant within few days.
At almost 19 years of age I still suffer from acne, it is extremely frustrating and really knocks a persons confidence. I've tried everything from tablets to expensive creams to get rid of the spots, nothing worked. I spotted this tip on Pinterest and while it isn't a miracle cure for acne, it did greatly reduce the redness for me. Give it a try, I guarantee your skin will feel and look a great deal healthier!
  1. Open a Vitamin E capsule (I used vitamin capsules from Superdrug) lightly massage it into your face, and let it soak in for 30 minutes.
  2. Apply beaten egg white to your skin, let it soak in for another 30 minutes, and then rinse off with cold water.

Getting Rid of Acne-Black Tea Method.

I've yet to try this, however a lot of 'Pinners' were reporting very good results after trying the black tea method. (courtesy of WikiHow) Give it a try, and let me know how it goes!

  1. Get Rid of Spots and Acne Using Black Tea Step 1.jpg
Fill up a cup with the required water, so using 1 part hot water and 2 parts cool water will do the trick! Once a good temperature is achieved, place the teabag(s) into the cup.

  1. Allow the tea bag(s) to steep for a few minutes, then once the water has become a dark brown - the optimal amount of saturation has been achieved.
Get Rid of Spots and Acne Using Black Tea Step 3.jpgLie down flat, horizontal, and place old cushions or pillows underneath your head (so if the tea runs off of your face and downwards, it wont ruin anything clean or new).
Get Rid of Spots and Acne Using Black Tea Step 4.jpgPlace the tea bag(s) straight onto your face, rubbing them gently around and spread the water evenly. As you do this, the residue will dry quite quickly so you can then apply more, repeating this many times. Good places to ensure you apply it to are your nose, T - zone & any area's prone to spots, bumps, redness and general blotchy/bad/uneven skin.
Get Rid of Spots and Acne Using Black Tea Step 5.jpgAfter a minute or two of this, place the tea bag(s) back into the cup & allow them to heat up and saturate again. Then take them out & place them on your eyes. Doing this will tighten the skin around the eyes and lighten any dark areas by infusing caffeine into the pores.

I'm off to Paris on Saturday, so lots of Paris fashion posts to follow soon! x

Goodbye....but Not Forever.

I've decided to take a break from fashion blogging for a little while. It's been a tough decision but I know that it is the right thing to do. I don't want to go into too much detail but I suffer from Anorexia-nervosa (as some of you may know if you've read my post about my ED) and at the moment I am struggling slightly. I know that a number of people do not believe that the media/fashion industry have any impact on people developing eating disorders. Perhaps that is true but what I do know is that idolising emaciated super models does not help one recover, for me it greatly hinders the recovery process.

I just want to end by thanking you all so much for taking the time to read my blog, I really do appreciate it. Take care,

Beanie hat

Hi everyone, sorry for the severe lack of "postage" over the last few months I'd like to say I've been extraordinarily busy, embarking on lots of new adventures and such, however that is not the case. I've been rather lazy of late and I for that I apologise.

We are now at the tail end of winter and I must admit I'm leaving this season behind with mixed emotions. As much as I loathe winter with it's horrid weather, travel disruptions and the inevitable winter illness. Winter also has a special place in my heart with Christmas festivities and cosy fashion. Winter is the season that I feel I look my best. Perhaps I don't, I may look dreadful however I feel good in myself and that's what matters right? I love the long cosy winter coat, the boots, big woolly jumpers which can conceal the festive period weight gain and of course the wintery accessories-hat,scarf gloves. I adore hats. I have a hat to go with ever outfit, I feel it adds a quirky element to person.

I don't believe I'll have much to post until the LFW post! So until then...

Friday 13th 2013-Christmas @ The Union.

Friday the 13th Signalled the end of semester 1 and the start of the Christmas holidays for Uni students. To celebrate I went to "12 Hours of Xmas Bliss" at Strathclyde Union. It was a great night with copious amounts of cheap alcohol and dancing.  Fun was had by all (Perhaps a little too much) I wanted to look Christmassy without looking to over-dressed. In the end, this is what I opted for.

Winter Coat Dilemma.

I should most definitely be preparing for tomorrows Economics seminar but this week shall be pretty hectic in terms of uni work so I thought I'd quickly make this post while I can.

Yesterday I went shopping hoping to purchase a cosy winter coat. To my dismay all I could find came in the form of horrendously over-sized coats. The majority of them are beautiful however you need to be rather tall to pull them off at 5'1 they simply drown me and make me look even smaller than I already am.

SLOUCHY MOHAIR BOYFRIEND COAT Price: £89.00

This coat was my favourite from Topshops offerings on the hanger that is. However, when I tried it on it looked truly ridiculous it drowned me, the sales assistant said that they will not be socking anything less than a UK6 in store but are curently selling UK4 online. I was considering buying a UK4 online but I'm sure that it will still be too big. I think I simply have to accept that my height will not allow me to wear over-sized coats. It's just rather unfortunate that this happens to be this seasons must have.

I also tried Miss Selfridge and came across a rather pretty collection of tartan coats however to my horror they too appeared to be over-sized.

I finally went to Zara and found a grey coat. I tried on the small it was too big but I knew that the XS would be a perfect fit. There was a girl instore trying on the XS and she then went on to purchase it. THE ONLY XS IN THE SHOP!

...and so my hunt for a winter coat continues!

Isabel Marant for H&M

Winter is without a shadow of a doubt my favourite season. I love the cosy jumper wearing, the tea drinking and the festive spirit which the season inevitably brings. This winter we have an extra treat (In terms of fashion!)French designer Isabel Marant has designed a truly exquisite collection for top high street retailer H&M  which is due for launch this November. There are certainly a few pieces which will be going on my ever growing Christmas wish list!

Wool cardigan, £79.99; leather trousers, £179.99

Personally, I am not too enamored with the the leather trousers, but I think the jacket is glorious and a steal coming in at just under £80. Teemed with a cosy jumper, leggings and a pair of ankle boots this jacket would be perfect for winter coffee outings with friends.

 dress, £69.99 and boots, £149.99
Perhaps you've purchased the exquisite jacket but want to dress it up a little Voila!  This dress  oozes class and elegance it may be considered a tad pricey for a high street dress but I'm sure it would be worth it for the sheer wear-ability factor and elegance which it brings!

So be sure to keep you're diary free for  Thursday the 14th of November. I shall inevitably be sprinting out of uni that day to queue outside my local H&M!
